I am 35, and I am still growing and changing. That is my goal as a woman after God’s own heart–to grow in Him.
While my husband’s direct ministry is working with men in prison, my personal ministry is for family. Why family?
What you do doesn’t just effect you–it effects everyone around you.
A direct correlation can be made between the choices you make and the choices that your parents made. And their choices are reflective of the choices their parents made. And so forth and so on. The divorce rate today is the result of the breakdown of family going back two generations at this point. God hates divorce for many reasons. If you have been divorced or went through a divorce within your family, you understand. If you haven’t been affected by divorce, then sadly you are in the minority.
My dad was 19 and my mom was just shy of 15 when they got married. They got pregnant on purpose, so that they could get married. (Mom, if you’re reading this, please correct me if I’m wrong.)
They had 5 children, and then they divorced after 20 years of marriage.
What does that have to do with “About Me”? EVERYTHING!
I was 14 when they divorced, and even though a part of me was glad, because all they did by that point was argue, there are other ways to stop the arguing. I’m old enough now to not point fingers. I am on my second marriage. I was on my way to a third. But, thankfully, my husband and I both quit running from God nine years ago.
Running toward God is much much more effective!
Thankfully, I did not have any children with my first husband. I was 17, and he was 22, and we were both very stupid and selfish. We went to church three services a week, and everyone at church was shocked (or so they said) when we divorced after 5 years. That has been 12 years ago, and I still deal with ramifications from that area of my life, of my heart. The primary problem was that I made a bad mate choice. The secondary problem was that I went into the marriage with divorce as an option in my mind.
I have been with my husband for 12 years, married to him for 10 this September (2011). I am his third marriage. He has a daughter from his first marriage (they were also teenagers), and a son from his second marriage (bad mate choice). I know firsthand the ramifications of divorce from several different viewpoints. And all of they yucky, sticky, smelly mess that goes along with it.
Okay, enough about divorce for now. My husband and I have two children of our own, a 10 year old boy, and a 5 year old girl. We homeschool. We have sit-down dinners. We don’t have cable or public tv.
Yes, we are different AND WE LIKE IT!
I have taught myself to sew and play piano in the last three years, though not both at the same time. In Christ, I am becoming the woman He wants me to be. Now, that also includes “minister’s wife.”
I will be devoting lots of posts to the myriad of information that stirs the “About Me” pot. Being a woman of strong opinion, I welcome yours as well!

This section made me think about spiritual sole ties and generational curses. Ever heard of them? I think you would appreciate the book, “Loosing The Key of David”. I had a lot of sole ties to break and can not explain the freedom I feel from breaking them in Jesus’ name. If you are interested you can email me to talk more. thestraightenedpath (at) gmail (dot) com Otherwise I highly recommend the book. I think you’ll be pleased.
Can I email you a question about your 100+chordsheets for church?
“I7: Use the I chord and also add in the seventh note of the chord. So for a I7 in the key of C, you would use C,E,F,G.”
The seventh in the key of C should be a Bm, so why are you putting an F in it? F is a 4th.?? Confused…
Sorry! That was a typo. For the I7, use Bb, C, E, and G. Thanks!
So glad to find your sight. . I am also a ministers wife, a divorcee, and taught myself to play piano…Your sight is so amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Hi there. Thank you so much for the music/piano download. We are a church plant in Corpus Christi and my 14 yo son is my piano player. Your download is an answer to prayer! I was wondering if you could somehow get the sheet music to Jeff and Sherri Easter, “I don’t have a prayer without you”. It is a beautiful song. We used to sing it in our home church, but my son wasn’t branching musically at that time. Thanks! Ray
I will sure see what I can do. I am so glad that you found this helpful. Many, many, MANY hours of work went into this. I always enjoy knowing when someone found it useful. Blessings!
Just wanted to thank you for the site, I was doing a search for the song ” I just want to thank You Lord ” chords, and while I didn’t find it, I was impressed by what I found. I downloaded the 100+ chord sheets for church file and printed out a bunch of the songs and the scales sheet. I had to check out the rest of your site. I’m going to have my wife check it out too. Thanks so much for everything!
Yay! Thanks! So, so glad you found all of this helpful. Hopefully I will have time soon to finish the hymnal edition. Progress has been so slow, but it is not forgotten.
